This
organisation was formed out of a need identified as a result of a programme
run by Community Action Network between 2002 and 2005 directed by Shola
Lana, which introduced social enterprises as a form of engagement, which
could contribute to community regeneration through black majority churches.
Shola’s
work created lasting links as a result with churches, organisations and
individuals in; Leeds, Leicester, Nottingham, Birmingham, Wolverhampton,
Manchester, Cardiff and various areas of London.
These have
now grown to include; Southampton, Liverpool, Plymouth, Newcastle and
many other areas in the South East. Nexgen Initiatives provides services,
which are really needed among the black and minority ethnic community
in the United Kingdom.
We
pride ourselves with having a very good knowledge of and personal relationships
with our target groups and are currently working in partnership with local
groups, businesses and national organisations in different parts of the
country.
This including
Community Action Network, Managing Business for Christ, In Business for
Christ, Faith Based Regeneration Network, Southwark Action for Voluntary
Organisations, West Yorkshire African Caribbean Council of Churches among
